Prepare your WordPress website for migration

A migration starts with understanding the website you already have. Prepare the source and confirm the available workflow before making live changes.

01Inventory the existing website

Confirm that you can access the current website and hosting account. Record the domain, current DNS settings, business email and any external services the site connects to. Identify the pages, forms and integrations you will need to check after moving.

02Keep a current backup

Export the relevant website backup and retain a separate copy. Check the supported formats, size limits and backup requirements in the current migration workflow. Avoid assuming that an archive from one provider is automatically suitable for another.

03Confirm availability and charges

Open the website migration area in Cloud Console to review the available workflow and any quotation or charges. Availability depends on the account, permissions and service capabilities. If the migration entry is unavailable or the requirements are unclear, contact support before proceeding.

04Verify before changing the live setup

Review the migrated website, important pages and connected services. Coordinate any domain or DNS changes with email and other existing services. Keep the previous backup and configuration available while you confirm the result.
